Egg mask is the old way of our grandmothers for beautiful, shiny, and strong hair. Today, we prefer to reach for drugstore products, forgetting that we have much more effective and also cheaper solutions at hand. In our tutorial, you will find recipes for an egg-based hair mask, which is especially recommended for people with damaged, thinning and falling hair.
A mask for thinning hair
If your hair is thinning and falling out, you should give it a solid protein treatment first. An egg-based hair mask is ideal for this. How do I prepare it?
Crack two eggs into a bowl, then add a splash of olive oil or cooking oil. Mix thoroughly. Now wash your hair and apply the entire contents of the bowl to dampened strands, patting gently. Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave it on for about 15 minutes. After this time, rinse the mask out of your hair and let it dry naturally without a hair dryer.
Hair strengthening mask
Do you have naturally thick hair that is, unfortunately, starting to rebel against colouring, straighteners, curling irons and sitting in dry, air-conditioned rooms? If so, an egg-based hair mask with a strengthening effect will come to their rescue.
Here we have a little more ingredients, but they are still widely available and mostly already in your kitchen. Crack one egg into a bowl, add half a ripe avocado, a little olive oil, honey and natural yogurt. Mix the whole thing thoroughly, mashing the avocado with a fork.
The mask is now ready. Again, apply it to washed, damp hair, then cover with a shower cap and leave it on for about half an hour. After this time, wash off all the mask and let your hair dry.
Isn’t it complicated to prepare an egg hair mask? Just make sure you don’t use the egg mask too often, as you can easily end up with “overprotected hair”. One treatment a week is enough.
